Alexina (Lisbon, 1964) is a portuguese visual artist based in Lisbon, where she maintains her studio.
She began her artistic career in the mid-1990s through ceramic decoration and currently, dedicates herself to glass sculpture using glass fusing and slumping techniques. In her practice, the artist focuses on repurposing float glass scraps destined for recycling, combining them with various materials, some from an upcycling perspective.
She exhibits regularly both in Portugal and abroad, having her work recognized by curators and awarded mentions of merit by the prestigious Luxembourg Art Prize.
Alongside her artistic creation, she shares her knowledge through practical workshops and contributions to specialized magazines.
